Guide to Korean Job Fairs and Networking Events for Foreigners 2026: Materials, Questions, and Follow-ups
For foreigners preparing for employment in Korea, job fairs and networking events are more helpful than expected. This is because you can ask on-site questions about the company atmosphere, required capabilities, and the possibility of hiring foreigners that are not visible in online announcements. However, if you go unprepared, it's easy to end up just scanning the booth, so it's a good idea to organize your goals and questions.

Check the purpose of the event first
Not all job fairs lead to actual job interviews. The purpose may be different, such as recruitment consultation, corporate promotion, job mentoring, on-site interview, or internship explanation. Please check the event information page to see participating companies, eligible participants, availability of foreign language consultations, and whether advance application is required.
Keep your resume short and clear
Because the person in charge meets many people in the field, a 1-2 page resume that clearly shows the main points is more advantageous than a long resume. Prepare a basic Korean resume, and if foreign language skills or overseas experience are important, bring an English version as well. When preparing a QR portfolio, you must check in advance whether the link opens well.
A list of questions makes a difference
Write down questions you need to know in advance, such as whether foreigners can apply, Korean language level required, visa availability, post-employment training, work location, and selection process. Rather than ending with ‘Can foreigners also apply?’, it is easier for the person in charge to remember if you connect the question to your own experience.
On-site manners and attire are also important.
Even if you don't need a suit, it's good to dress neatly and make a clean impression. Bring a spare name tag, writing utensil, spare battery, and resume. When the booth is crowded, it is better to say hello briefly and ask key questions first, and if you want to have a long discussion, it is better to aim for a relatively quiet time.
You will have to follow up after the event to receive additional opportunities.
After you receive the business card or information materials, send a brief thank you message the same day or the next day, and check back to find out how to apply. Companies of interest may want to note the application deadline and contact person's name. If you reflect the advice you heard at the event in your resume and self-introduction, the quality of your next application will increase.
