You can give up for a moment the idea that only large transparent ice is high quality. On hot days, crushed ice enhances the taste and photos at the same time.

Frozen is thicker when the fruit is frozen. | Adding too much ice will dull the taste. | A pinch of saltiness brings out the sweetness.

The size of the ice determines the flavor of the drink.

Lately, summer cocktails have gone in the direction of long, cold, and sometimes slush-like textures. You can make bar-style frozen cocktails at home with just a blender or zipper bag.

Why it's important

Crushed ice and frozen texture make the alcohol feel low and the flavor opens up slowly. It goes especially well with rosé, rum, tequila and fruit liqueurs.

Practical method

Use frozen fruit instead of fruit juice. If you grind it based on 1 cup of ice, 80g of frozen fruit, 45ml of base liquor, and 10ml of acidity, the taste of the water will be less.

Things to watch out for

If you apply it for too long, it will fade quickly. Grind it in short pieces and put the glass in the freezer in advance so it stays cold until the last sip.

In a summer home bar, ice is an ingredient, not a decoration. If you use different ice, the same drink becomes a completely different menu item.
